The Contract Specialist provides support and assistance in coordination and oversight of acquisition. The Contract Specialist is to provide a wide range of professional acquisition and contract support services in the areas of pre-award, award, and post award support to include acquisition planning, source selection, as well as contract administration and management. The Contract Specialist will assist with the preparation and issuance of contracts, delivery orders, modifications and management of various contractual vehicles. A variety of contract types, including but not limited to; logistical support, information technology systems and support, and various professional and analytical support will be used. The types of goods and services includes but is not limited to; IT, plant equipment, and various type of services.
The Contract Specialist shall have bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study, which includes at least 24 semester hours among accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, and organization and management.
The Contract Specialist – Level II shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in conducting comprehensive acquisition support activities.
Additional Required Knowledge and Skills:
The Contract Specialist shall clearly possess the following knowledge and skills:
- Experience preparing acquisition packages and posting on GSA eBuy and FedBizOps.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret Federal acquisition policy, regulations, and directives and to apply those interpretations fully and legally to all activities described in the SOW.
- Ability to provide clear leadership, technical direction, and guidance to all lower level acquisition personnel.
- Knowledge of UFMS or Momentum Financial Management software is a plus.
Required Security Clearance:
PUBLIC TRUST or clearance investigation within the last 5 years
Additional Desired Education: Master’s Degree
